In keeping with Cummings Properties’ sustained commitment to solar energy production across its portfolio, the Dunham Ridge development includes a 254 kW solar photovoltaic array atop its central parking garage. The system generates almost 273,000 kWh per year, equivalent to around 38 typical Massachusetts households and offsetting some 125 tons of CO2 emissions annually. Additional arrays are planned for the garage at 52 Dunham Ridge, and potentially for one or more future rooftops on the burgeoning Dunham Ridge campus. Cummings Properties’ has partnered with Lawrence-based Solectria Renewables as its inverter supplier for all of its existing solar energy systems.
With brickwork nearing completion, window and curtain wall installation is now underway. The tinted and heat reflective windows include operable sections to allow occupants easy access to additional fresh air. Many of the windows overlook the Norwood Pond conservation area, which includes a network of walking trails. The windows and wall system contribute to this energy-saving building’s efficiency and control utility costs.

Vitality will bring an active residential component to the mixed-use development at Dunham Ridge. Vitality is exploring offering a café and child daycare center to broaden the generational exposure of its residents.
